The Dog Groomer Experience at Clips Dog Grooming gives you the opportunity to step behind the scenes of our award-winning dog grooming salon in Wendover, Buckinghamshire.
During this approximately six-hour insight day, you will discover what happens beyond the finished groom. You’ll learn about dog handling and welfare, professional grooming equipment, bathing, drying, brushing, coat care and the different skills involved in caring for dogs safely and responsibly.
This is an enjoyable and informative experience for aspiring dog groomers, teenagers exploring possible careers, adults considering a career change and dog lovers who would simply enjoy spending a day inside a professional grooming salon.
No previous grooming experience is required.

What Will You Experience?
Your Dog Groomer Experience will take place inside our professional dog grooming salon in Wendover, near Aylesbury, Tring and surrounding Buckinghamshire villages.
Your day may include:
• A health and safety introduction
• A guided tour of the salon and professional grooming equipment
• An introduction to safe dog handling and animal welfare
• Understanding different coat types and grooming requirements
• Bathing and drying techniques
• Safe brushing and coat-maintenance methods
• An introduction to nail, ear and eye care
• Watching an experienced groomer complete a professional groom
• Learning about breed styling and owner preferences
• Assisting with suitable parts of the grooming process under close supervision

The Dog Groomer Experience is a recreational and career insight day. It is not an accredited dog grooming course, apprenticeship, work placement or professional qualification.
Attendance does not qualify a participant to work independently as a dog groomer, provide professional grooming services or use professional grooming equipment without suitable training and supervision.
A certificate of attendance may be provided, but this confirms participation only and does not represent a recognised dog grooming qualification.
All practical activities are optional, subject to suitability and completed under close professional supervision. The supervising groomer may change or stop an activity at any time to protect the participant’s safety and the welfare of the dog.
