How do I book an appointment?

Appointments can be booked easily online, or by phone or email if you’d like to speak with a member of our friendly team first.
How long does a grooming appointment take?
Times vary depending on breed, coat condition, and service type. We never rush our grooms; your dog’s comfort and wellbeing always come first.

Why choose a professional dog groomer?

Professional grooming helps maintain your dog’s health, comfort, and hygiene. Trained groomers can spot early signs of skin, coat, nail, or ear issues, ensuring problems are addressed before they become serious.
Seasonal Grooming – February & March
Should my dog be groomed in winter / February / March?

Yes. Grooming during late winter and early spring keeps your dog’s coat healthy, prevents matting from damp weather, and avoids skin irritation or painful tangles. Regular grooming also makes home brushing easier and keeps coats in top condition for spring.

How often should my dog be groomed in winter?

Most dogs benefit from grooming every 6–8 weeks in winter, but dogs with long or thick coats may need more frequent care to prevent matting and discomfort.
Will grooming make my dog cold?

No. We use professional drying techniques to ensure every dog leaves warm, comfortable,
and fully dry, even during winter months.

What happens if I skip grooming in winter?

Skipping winter grooming can lead to matted fur, skin irritation, infections, and may require more extensive grooming later, increasing stress and cost.

About us & Why
Where It All Began…
Clips Dog Grooming started as a little spark of an idea over a gin and tonic in a sunny pub garden and blossomed into a business built with love, dedication, and an obsession with dogs. What began as a gorgeous home salon with just a dream and a pair of scissors quickly grew into a fully booked service, caring for up to 300 wonderful doggie clients.

As word spread and tails wagged, we made the leap to our beautiful, purpose-built salon at World’s End Garden Centre in Wendover. Our vision was simple yet powerful: create a grooming space that was clean, open, sleek, and above all, welcoming to dogs of every need and personality.

That vision shaped every decision from the salon’s transparent layout that lets dogs see, smell, and feel part of the calm buzz around them, to the sense of ease and joy felt the moment they peek through the window (tails wagging) or stroll through our doors (often greeted with cheers from regulars, even from a distance).

Years on, I’m immensely proud to be a small business owner whose heartbeat comes from the incredible community we’ve created — made up of dogs, owners, neighbours, and a team who genuinely care.

Why is having your dog groomed so important?

Grooming is not just about keeping your dog looking good but essential part of keeping your dog’s level of cleanliness & of course feeling good to the highest level. Grooming is about maintaining both your dog’s physical health as well as their appearance.

Grooming maintains a healthy coat and skin. Regular nail trims not only help keep the nails short but helps reinforce healthy foot structure and posture, and reduces the risk of infection. Your pet will look and smell great.
Every time your dog comes for a visit we'll always make sure we monitor their health to recognise symptoms of potential conditions and keep them living their best life!
